8 man thief team?
I was just reading Arcane Thievery and Larceny descriptions and just wondered what would happen if all 8 people on a team take the two spells, and everyone targeted the enemy healer monk.
The chances of completely shutting down the monk for 30 seconds at a time is pretty large with 16 attempts.
I've only ever seen two monks per team, one is a protection monk the other is a healer monk.
On the flip side, you could target 1/2 at one monk and the other 1/2 at the second monk. You might not fully disable the monks, but it would certainly wreak havoc.
Anyone tried anything like that?

Not a GvG fan but its like gambling with those skills. Against bad guilds you might win but I doubt it about the high ranked ones. Just my thoughts.

Great, you can disable monks. Now how do you actually kill them? Or better yet, how do you survive the other team's offense?

I dunno, A team with 3 monks (or two if the two can manage both the mesmer spells and heal) VS a team with one disabled or 2 half disabled monks Sounds pretty promising. I mean, with you being able to heal through their offensive, them not being able to heal through yours (because you can totally use simple builds to kill without any major healing) it sounds fun.
2 Warriors or Dervs
1 Mesmer ( can shutdown other mesmer to make sure all the larceny etc skills get through)
1 Utility (water ele maybe)
2 spikers?
2 monks
Rough sketch but it sounds fun.
Shock-axe, or most frontliners have little to no healing so you could take out the monks then them.
A couple midliners have some defensive skills so it may be wise to take them out before frontliners of after depending on which kind of skills. Aegis take them out first, something that targets one person, then they can be dealt with afterwards.
Doesnt sound extremly 1337 but it does sound like a lot of fun lol

I am not a PvP player, but I observe. I wasn't expecting that this would be the next uber build but it sure sounds like it would be one heck of a surprise and fun.
Imagine the monk player on the receiving end...imagine his vocabulary after getting hit with 16 thievery....

You have to remember, you can grab a disabled skill with your thievery. I've gotten the same skill 3 times in a row from someone before. It wasn't the only spell they had, I saw them casting others. It's just chance.
To be honest, it'd be a waste. Two Power Block mesmers, each locked onto their own monk would be far more effective.

The problem is that for a 30 second disable it would require roughly 12 domination magic. That really takes away from your possibilities, but if people have these 2 skills, plus diversion, the other team would be severely crippled in skill options.
Oh yeah, in my experience, simply spamming echo diversion has a much greater effect, a full minute, plus most monks won't dare cast a good spell while this is on them.

You can take 16 copies of arcane thievery...
or you can just take diversion/shame/blackout.
And I'd just tell my warriors to stomp on your nuts if you cast 16 arcane thievery on me, because there's going to be nothing stopping them.
If you have a build idea revolving around 16 of those and enough survival and killing power, by all means post one. But this is just asking to be laughed at.
